Applications submitted until 24 April will be part of an early assessment process. Applicants with a score of 26 points or higher will receive an early admission offer in early May. Applicants that score below 26 points will take part in the regular admission process (ranking). The results of the regular selection process can be expected in early June.

Curriculum

At the beginning of your studies you attend the core modules which provide a solid foundation in macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and mathematics. From the second semester on you are free to pick electives from our course catalog or from other departments. Depending on your track of spezialization, your course choice may be complemented by spezialized modules. Students who successfully applied for an exchange semester at one of our partners in- and outside Europe typically go abroad in the third or fourth semester. You conclude your studies by writing a master's thesis which will be supervised by one of our staff-members.

We strive to provide the best possible learning environment for you. In addition to the modern workplaces in the libraries the University offers a number of services and facilities that will help get the most out of your studies.

Financing

In comparison to other large cities in Germany, living in Mannheim is not very expensive. You should budget about EUR 850 to EUR 900 per month (made up of EUR 250 to 400 rent, about EUR 100 to 120 health insurance and the remaining money for groceries, clothing, etc.). Your expenses of course heavily depend on your lifestyle. Factor in some additional expenses during your first months in your new home as you will need to buy many new things, such as dishes or books. Mentoring Program

Which job is the right one for me? What kind of firms and organizations are suitable for me? How can I plan the best transition into the working world? 

The ABSOLVENTUM mentoring program brings together students (mentees) and experienced mentors from the community. To date, around 1,200 successful mentoring partnerships have been established across all faculties. In addition to developing professional, personal, and social skills of the mentees, the mentors also assist their protégés with questions concerning their studies, careers, and life plans.
