Prof. Dr. Matthias Meier
Matthias Meier is a Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim, a Research Affiliate at the Center of Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and a Project Leader of the Collaborative Research Center Transregio 224.
His research focuses on macroeconomics with a special emphasis on monetary policy, the role of firms, and supply chains.
Matthias Meier studied Economics in Cologne, Istanbul, Bonn, and New York, before receiving a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Bonn in 2017. Between 2017 and 2025, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim and a visiting scholar at the University of Bonn.
