Abstract: How does the Quantity Theory of Money (QTM) perform historically? Dr. Jung's new paper on the matter provides the most comprehensive and robust analysis of the connection between money supply and inflation to date. His findings and their implications for central bank policy in crisis and non-crisis settings are critically informative for any discussion of monetary economics.

Abstract: Germany's economic performance has given many plenty reason to worry about our future. The incoming administration faces tremendous challenges and has the decisive task of shaping the economic future of our country. Thanks to his long and intricate experience and innovative economic perspective, Professor Bofinger has long argued for a clear, alternative path forward based upon Schumpeterian economic theory. The merits and potential drawbacks of his suggestions are subject of controversial economic debate and are more relevant than ever.

Wir erhalten einen Einblick in die Arbeitsrealität einer Ökonomin in einem Unternehmen wie Morgan Stanley. Hier erfahren wir alles über die Struktur, Aufgaben und den Werdegang in dieser Branche. Ein Teil der Diskussion dreht sich dann um jüngste Analysen, die von Gabriela Silova und ihrem Team angefertigt wurden und wie sie vorgegangen sind. Mit viel Zeit für Diskurs und Fragen hoffen wir, den Studierenden diese Karriereoption näher zu bringen und ihr Verständnis für die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten ihrer Studieninhalte zu erweitern.

In den letzten Jahren ist das Schlagwort „Deindustrialisierung“ im Diskurs um die deutsche Wirtschaft immer präsenter geworden. Politiker, Ökonomen und Interessengruppen warnen vor einem Verfall des Industriestandort Deutschland und einer Abwanderung der größten Wirtschaftszweige. Aber was ist da eigentlich dran? Wie schlimm ist die Lage wirklich? Welche Sektoren sind besonders betroffen? Was sind die Ursachen? Und viel wichtiger: Was sollte Deutschland jetzt tun? Diese Fragen und viel mehr diskutieren wir mit dem renommierten Ökonomen Friedrich Heinemann, um ein bisschen Klarheit in dieser politisch geladenen Debatte zu schaffen.
