Prof. Dr. Matthias Meier

The primary research and teaching interests of Professor Dr. Matthias Meier are Macroeconomics, Macroeconometrics and Computational Economics. Within Macroeconomics, he is interested in business cycles and macro development, in particular the role of heterogeneous companies in this context. Within Macroeconometrics, he analyses structural vector autoregressive models.

Following a diploma in Economics earned at the University of Cologne, Meier studied and taught at the University of Bonn until receiving his doctorate in 2017. Since the Fall/Winter Semester 2017, he is an Assistant Professor (Juniorprofessor) at the Department of Economics in Mannheim.
