These are the cornerstones of our identity, which we live on a daily basis. The Department of Economics is one of Europe’s most prestigious institutions in this area. In the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021 the Department again stands out as the number one in Germany – for the third consecutive year. And since the introduction of the Handelsblatt VWL-Rankings, the Department is the only one always listed among the top 4 departments in Germany and the only one named three times as Germany’s leading institution for economic research.
