Prof. Dr. Philipp M. Richter
Philipp M. Richter is a Visiting Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim and a CESifo Research Network Affiliate, DIW Research Fellow, and Kiel Centre for Globalization (KCG) External Research Fellow.
Philipp is an economist interested in the intersection of international trade and the environment. His research takes a micro-level perspective focussing on the heterogeneity of firms and their behaviour to analyse firm-level mechanisms behind the links between trade and the environment. His research has been published inter alia in the Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, the European Economic Review, the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy, the Review of International Economics, and Energy Economics.
Prior to joining Mannheim in 2022, Philipp was an Assistant Professor in International Economic Policy at TU Dresden. He was also an Interim Professor at the Chair of International Economics at TU Dresden and a research assistant at the University of Potsdam and at the Department of Energy, Transportation, Environment at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). He received a Ph.D. in economics in 2015 from TU Berlin and within the DIW Graduate Center.
