Dr. Viviana Urueña

Viviana Urueña is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Econometrics, Prof. Dr. Markus Frölich.

She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Göttingen, where she conducted four field experiments in Madagascar with diverse populations—including vanilla farmers and high school students—on topics spanning agriculture, labor markets, and environmental conservation.

She has many years of experience in impact evaluation, behavioral interventions, and large-scale data collection, with a strong focus on rural development. Her research interests center on behavioral interventions and conducting long-term impact evaluations, particularly on topics related to rural development and to social protection programs around the world.

Viviana Urueña is affiliated with the Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) and the University of Mannheim, where she teaches courses on Impact Evaluation and Poverty and Inequality.
