Carlos Urrutia is a Professor of Economics at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), currently on sabbatical at University of Mannheim. His research interests lie at the intersection of Macroeconomics, International Finance and Labor Economics, with a focus on the adjustment of the economy to shocks in Emerging Economies.
Prof. Urrutia obtained his Ph.D. from University of Minnesota in 1998 and held a previous appointment at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has also been a visiting scholar at Georgetown University, the International Monetary Fund, and Mexico's Central Bank.
