
Dr. Zahra Kamal
Dr. Zahra Kamal is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Econometrics, Prof. Dr. Markus Frölich.
Her research lies at the intersection of education and health economics, development and empirical policy evaluation. She has experience in designing and managing diverse research projects, including impact evaluations, mixed-method studies, case studies, and systematic reviews. Her research interests focus on social inclusion, equality, and evidence-based policymaking to improve outcomes for vulnerable populations in development contexts. Specifically, she has worked on maternal and child health, social protection, and the role of gender norms in shaping equality in health and education.
Dr. Kamal is affiliated with the Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) and the University of Mannheim, where she teaches courses on Impact Evaluation and R Programming for Data Science.
