Scholarship Program

Scholarship program funded by the Foundation “Geld und Währung”

Starting in September 2016, the University of Mannheim offers each year 20 Ph.D. scholarships in Economics, Business and Law for dissertation projects in the area of money and finance. Dissertation projects in Economics and Business take place within the respective graduate schools in economics (CDSE) and business (CDSB). Projects in law are anchored in the Law School.

The program is generously funded by the “Stiftung Geld und Währung” and finances innovative Ph.D. research projects dealing with a broad set of research questions in the areas of money and finance. Examples include research projects studying financial stability, the interaction between the monetary and real sectors of the economy, the supervision and regulation of banking, insurance and pension systems, the investment behavior of private and institutional investors, or the legal foundations of financial institutions in the European Union and its member states.

The program seeks to foster the exchange of ideas across business, economics and law and encourages Ph.D. students to attend Master and Ph.D. courses from other program areas.
