The Gesellschaft der Freunde der Universität Mannheim e. V. is an organization that supports the University of Mannheim and its students. Its objective is to strengthen the link between academia, industry, and society by assisting with research projects, encouraging communication between scholars and members of the public, and helping disadvantaged students.

In addition to the University of Mannheim Foundation, there are a number of other foundations whose initiators and members are committed to the University of Mannheim in a variety of ways.

Private individuals also support the Department of Economics by funding scholarships for students (such as the Deutschland Scholarship) and doctoral candidates, and donating money, books, computers and software, and other material items. The Department greatly appreciates all donations that it receives. If you or your organization would like to make a donation or become a sponsor, please contact the dean's office.
